Engaging Families Award

At Copthorne we are very proud to have achieved the Engaging Families Award in 2016 which acknowledged our support for parents and carers. We continue to strive to work with our parents and share daily conversations.

One of our key priorities is to give parents the opportunity to observe their child /children in their learning and provide occasions when parents are able to find out about the lessons that will be taking place throughout the year.

Workshops provided include:

  • Phonics/ Reading- KS1
  • Reading- KS2
  • Helping your children with their Maths and English
  • Reading Breakfast- Early Years

Parents are encouraged to share their views, and where possible, teachers will support and tailor workshops to ensure parents are informed about how they can help their children with their learning.

This year we are relaunching our parents’ groups to establish fundraising schemes and charity events. This will take place through coffee mornings, bake sales and other events as voiced by you, the parents.

Parents are kept informed through our range social media platforms to ensure they can keep in touch with what is happening on a daily basis. Each year group puts weekly posts on their Parent Hub Channel and our Twitter page shares a range of media, links and information on activities that are happening through school.
